The Battle of Gettysburg
Introduction
The Battle of Gettysburg occured during July 1 through July 3 in 1863. It took place around the small town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The Battle was between the Union forces and the Confederates. The commander of the Union forces was General George G. Meade, and the commander of the Confederate army was Robert E. Lee.
Commanders
General George G. Meade was the commander of the Union forces. Meade had never wanted to be a soldier, or to be the commander that directed an army that was facing a significant challange.
